Tributes To Robert Lesslie

Across social media users’ timelines are statements that show respect, admiration, and gratitude towards Lesslie as people mourn the passing.

My prayers this morning for Dr. Robert Leslie, his wife Barbara, his two young grandchildren, and a contractor. They were shot and killed at their home in Rock Hill late yesterday afternoon.

I knew Dr. Leslie from working for EMS at York General and Piedmont Medical Center. He was a caring Dr. and was the first real Emergency Medicine physician at YGH along with Terry Hayes and Richard Bradner.
Dr. Leslie also had an unusual dry sense of humor. He wrote books about working in the ED.
I remember Barbara Leslie as very kind woman and great mother. I believe they had 5 children. One of those children lost 2 young children.
What a senseless act. They have left an impact on Rock Hill and beyond and will be missed.

A suspect has been identified and deputies are with him after a mass shooting on Wednesday afternoon in Rock Hill, South Carolina in York County. Law Enforcement are conducting a search warrant at a home where the suspect lives or was found in on Marshall Road.

The coroner identified the five victims who were shot at the Lesslie’s home on Marshall Road as the following:
70YO Dr. Robert Lesslie,
69YO Barbara Lesslie (wife)
9YO Adah (grandchild)
5YO Noah (grandchild)
38YO James Lewis from Gastonia, North Carolina was service worker. He was found shot to death outside the home.
A sixth person was also shot and flown from the scene. It’s believed this is a second service worker who was working outside the home when the shooting happened.
Dr. Robert Lesslie was a best-selling author and emergency room doctor.
“Dr. Lesslie was my doctor growing up,” Faris said. “Dr. Lesslie has been one of those people that everybody knows. He started Riverview Medical Center in Rock Hill and it’s been a staple in Rock Hill for years.”

“Five people were killed at a home on Marshall Road in York County South Carolina. Dr. Robert Lesslie, 70, his wife Barbara, 69, and their grandchildren, 9yo Adah & 5yo Noah. A 5th person, 38yo James Lewis from Gastonia, a service worker was found dead outside the home. Several of you have reached out about a manhunt over in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Here’s what I know right now. The York County Sheriff’s Office confirms ‘multiple’ people were shot this afternoon just before 5pm on Marshall Road. A manhunt has been underway ever since. The description has been very vague with the YCSO only describing the suspect as a “young black male wearing a hoodie & camo pants. The YCSO hasn’t released any information on the circumstances surrounding the shooting or confirmed how many people were shot or their conditions. SLED is assisting local agencies. As I learn more on this shooting/manhunt, I’ll update this thread. #developing
