Des O’Connor Death – Dead | Des O’Connor Obituary – Passed Away
Des O’Connor Death – Dead: A great loss was made known to InsideEko. As friends and families of the deceased are mourning the passing of their loved and cherished Des O’Connor.
As young artists in the industry, we often felt very cautious and wary when going on TV shows. Des O’Connor was not just a TV host he was a destination point. He was a force of nature, and the consummate professional , but for us he also allowed us to have fun. He was humble yet effortlessly commanding. Simply put, we felt safe with him. We love you Des, and I personally will never forget your support and the love you showed us continuously. My love and sincere condolences to his family RIP #desoconnor
Sad to hear that Des O’Connor has passed.
A very funny man, he gave me my first TV spot in the UK and was just as lovely offstage as he was onscreen. They sure don’t make them like that any more.
Very sad news to hear Des O’Connor has died, to be on his show in 2012 was a highlight after watching him throughout my childhood. An icon on TV, a gentleman and one of the best! Rest in peace Des x
I was very saddened to hear news of the passing of Brilliant all round entertainer Des O’Connor CBE
Des who was 88, was the ultimate entertainer. He loved being on stage – entertaining a live audience. He always said the sound of laughter was like the sound of heavenly music. He had a fabulous international TV career, presenting his own prime-time TV shows for over 45 years. On stage he starred at almost every leading venue throughout the world.”
He was known for his decades-long prime-time TV career, including shows such as Today With Des And Mel and Des O’Connor Tonight.
A true professional of his art, Des will be greatly missed amongst the entertainment world,
Our thoughts are with his family and friends.
R.I.P. Des

Wonderful Des brought great times into our lives. In fact 45 years ago when my son Carl was born the only music he would go to sleep with was Des. That lasted for three years and I reminded Carl yesterday and he had remembered. Thoughts and prayers with Des O’Connor’s Family

So very sorry to hear of the death of Des O’Connor. He was a great entertainer and he was also a fan of Dusty. She appeared on his show more than once. Rest in Peace Des. 😓 Photo: Dusty and Des during their May 1970 musical sketch of Messing About on the River.
