Derrick Gilcrease dies in two-car accident on Bell Road in Nashville

Derrick Gilcrease Death – Cause of Death : 36-year-old Derrick Gilcrease, of Nashville, Tennessee has been identified by the Metro police as the man that died from injuries sustained from a two-car accident. The crash occurred on Saturday night, December 4, 2021, at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Bell Road close to Smith Springs Road in Nashville, Tennessee. Gilcrease was pronounced dead as a result of major injuries suffered from the crash

According to officials, Gilcrease was operating his car southbound at high speed, overtaking other vehicles by driving into oncoming traffic. In an attempt to negotiate a curve, he lost control of the car, veered into the northbound lane, and collided head-on with a northbound Ford pickup truck driver by Marcial Ibanes-Huerta, 50. The impact ejected him from his car and died at the scene of the crash. He was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Meanwhile, Ibanes-Huerta survived the crash with minor injuries, while a passenger in the pickup truck was transported with non-life-threatening injuries to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment. Authorities believed Gilcrease reckless driving is a factor in the crash.

Derrick Gilcrease’s obituary will be released by his family.
