Delores D. McCloskey of Homer City dies in White Twp wrong-way accident

Delores D. McCloskey Death – Cause of Death : 82-year-old Delores D. McCloskey, of Homer City in Indiana County, Pennsylvania has passed away following blunt force trauma injuries suffered when her car collided with a tri-axle coal truck. The accident happened on Tuesday morning, December 14, 2021, at approximately 9:28 a.m. on U.S. Route 422 East near the South Sixth Street exit ramp in White Township, Indiana County, Pennsylvania.

According to officials, McCloskey was driving a 2000 Ford Focus sedan eastbound on U.S. Route 422 East with 78-year-old Edna M. Mervine also of Homer City in the westbound lane when her car collided head-on with a 2017 Peterbilt dump truck driven by 52-year-old Brian B. Birchall, of Northern Cambria. Birchall attempted to avoid the collision, but all efforts proved abortive.

McCloskey sustained serious blunt force trauma injuries and died at the scene, while her passenger, Mervine was transported with serious injuries to Indiana Regional Medical Center before being airlifted to Johnstown’s Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. Mervine is expected to survive. Meanwhile, Birchall did not sustain any injuries.

Delores D. McCloskey’s obituary will be released by her family.
