David Desmond Death – Man charged in Birmingham fatal shooting

David Desmond : 24-year-old Daminyae Montreze Harris has been arrested Thursday in connection to the Sunday night shooting death of 17-year-old David Desmond, Of Birmingham, police says.

Montreze Harris was taken into custody Tuesday and charged with murder. He is currently booked into the Jefferson County Jail at 6:32 p.m. Tuesday, on a bond of $150,000.

Birmingham Police say the was reported at about 10:30 p.m. Sunday on Fulton Avenue Southwest, at the intersection of Fourth and Fifth Streets. West Precinct officers responded to the scene and located the victim in the roadway dead with injuries consistent with a gunshot. Desmond was pronounced dead on the scene.

According to Officer Truman Fitzgerald, an anonymous tip was received from a community member pointing out Montreze HarrisMontreze Harris as a possible suspect. Two-persons were taken into custody from 400 block of Fulton Avenue without incident.
