DaNedra Sessoms of Valdosta killed in a shooting

DaNedra Sessoms Death – Cause of Death – The teen who was killed in a shooting on the intersection of West Gordon Street and Lankford Drive, has been identified as 17 year old DaNedra Sessoms of Valdosta. The Valdosta Police Department (VPD) said the incident happened shortly after 5 a.m. on Saturday, 20th of November 2021. Police said the suspect in the shooting of Sessoms has been identified as 17 year old Kendrick Mitchell.

The victim and the suspect were both students of Valdosta City Schools. Authorities received a report about a shooting and upon arrival at the scene, they located Sessoms in the road with gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead on the scene. Police said both families reported that Sessoms and Mitchell were dating.  Mitchell is wanted on felony murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime charges, reports stated.

Police said after the shooting, he left the scene in a car, later abandoned it and ran. He is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information on Mitchell’s whereabouts is urged to call 911.
