Clyde Handy Death – Dead: A great loss was made known to InsideEko. As friends and families of the deceased are mourning the passing of their loved and cherished Clyde Handy.
Having heard about this great loss, the family of this individual is passing through pains, mourning the unexpected passing of their beloved.
This departure was confirmed through social media posts made by Twitter users who pour out tributes, and condolences to the family of the deceased.
When the storm hit, I knew things would be different after, but our family has lost more than I ever thought possible. Prior to receiving the news, I had just texted my Uncle Lyle, “Overall im just blessed, everyone is okay. We can fix/replace the material items and the houses but im glad our family is safe”…
My heart is so broken, and I wouldn’t wish this pain on anyone.💔
We got news yesterday that my grandmother (Rosalie Lewis), godmother/aunt (Kim Lewis-Evans), uncle and Kim’s husband (Chris Evans), and great Uncle (Clyde Handy) have all passed away. My grandpa (John Lewis Sr) is also in critical care, please send extra prayers.
My Maw Maw was THE Red Rose of Louisiana. The first black mail lady in Louisiana. She taught me so so many things and I credit a lot of the wisdom and strength I have from her. I have sooo many vivid memories with her that I’ll never ever forget. She knew how to light up a room and lived a full life, full of love. I’ll never forget her sassy phrases, my favorite one being “I might be old, but I’m not too old to throw”. She was so amazing and truly impacted our community in Lake Charles in a phenomenal way.
My Aunt Kim, Nanny Kim… If you had the pleasure of knowing her, you were lucky (if you stayed on her good side). She knew how to make a bold first impression, was a powerful mother figure, and would go above and beyond for the people she cared for. She was all of her brothers’ keeper. We were planning on having drinks together to catch up, but life was so busy and covid happened. She always said me, my sister Ashley, and cousin Caitlyn got our attitudes from her lol. I’ll miss her getting everyone together for holidays at her and Uncle Chris’ house, filled from top to bottom with New Orleans Saints decor.
My Uncle Chris… lord we would always pick with one another and he’d irk my last nerve some days, but he always knew how to put a smile on my face with his jokes. He made the BEST gumbo, and made sure to tell you. He stepped up when our family and his wife needed his support the most.
Uncle Clyde was one of the sweetest souls I’ve ever met. He was so generous, even kept a calendar of everyone’s birthday he knew. He was always always so supportive and loved his family so much.
Heaven has gained 4 beautiful angels, and I know they’ll be with our family spiritually through the rest of this journey.
It has been an extremely rough couple days, but with the amount of love and support we’ve received, I know we’ll all be okay. Sometimes we don’t understand why things happen to certain people or why they play out the way they do, but we have to realize that everything happens on God’s time, divine timing.
For everyone reading, please just take the time to check on your loved ones and spend that little extra quality time. Return the calls back ASAP, let go of petty drama, go to the family gathering you dread, take lots of pictures/videos, spend time with the elderly, say I love you after each talk— don’t wait for a hospital visit, holiday, funeral, birthday, or a once-in-a-year event to catch up.
Life goes by so fast, and the number of losses in my immediate family over the last few years have taught me that. Be grateful for the present moment and the people you have in your life today, because you never know when someone’s time is up.
Dear Graham Family!
It is with a heavy heart that I regret to inform you of the passing of several members of our beloved Graham Family. We have suffered a great loss. I ask for that each of you join me in prayer as we mourn the loss of Kim Lewis Evans, her husband Chris Evans, her mom Rosalie Lewis, and Rosalie’s young brother, Clyde Handy. These dear family members lost their lives to carbon monoxide poisoning from a generator. They all resided in the Lake Charles area.
We know that this is a difficult thing to process but we definitely want to uplift this family up in prayer during these trying times. May God be with the Lewis family and rest assure that we are here to stand in the gap as needed. I will keep you updated with arrangements and details as soon as they are brought to my attention.
