Chip Malafronte Death – Dead | Passed Away – Obituary

Chip Malafronte Death – Dead: A great loss was made known to InsideEko. As friends and families of the deceased are mourning the passing of their loved and cherished Chip Malafronte.

There will be tears in my Sunday Gravy.
I got the heartbreaking but expected news tonight that Chip Malafronte passed. Chip was a great sports columnist for Hearst, a wonderful dad and a special person who cared about everyone. He will be missed dearly around Yale events.

Just seeing the news about Chip Malafronte & I am HEARTBROKEN. Chip was my idol while I was at QU. He is why I wanted to be a reporter. He would sit in the press box at QU games, see my tweets, laugh and look over to me and shake his head. We ended up friends.

News of Chip Malafronte’s passing hit me hard. Chip was an incredible person, a talented journalist and always a pleasure to be around. I’m heartbroken.

I didn’t know him well and we didn’t stay in touch after I left
, but I sincerely enjoyed chatting up
’s Chip Malafronte every chance I got. He was always a friendly, dry, easy-going presence in the press box, and the world is worse for his absence. RIP Chip.

So sad over seeing the news that Chip Malafronte has passed. From 2013-17, as a recent Quinnipiac grad, I covered college hockey for the Rep-Am as the Bobcats became prominent. Chip had been on the beat for years but couldn’t have been more welcoming to the new guy at the rink.

Absolutely heart breaking to hear of Chip Malafronte’s passing. I don’t think there was a journalist that I worked closer with in my career.

When my daughter was born, he worked it into a game recap for a Quinnipiac hockey game. When I thanked him for the shout-out, he said he thought it would be something neat to remember her birth and to give to her someday. I have the clipping nestled away to give to her when she’s old enough.

I remember talking about any number of things with Chip, in addition to Quinnipiac hockey. I particularly liked how he worked in a moment with his son from that week into his weekly column in the Register, mostly because it reminded me of the time I spent with my father growing up and that helped me after he passed.

Chip was a talented journalist, a good friend and a great father. I’ll miss you, Chipper.

Having heard about this great loss, the family of this individual is passing through pains, mourning the unexpected passing of their beloved.
