Collin Earl Smith-Aiken Death – Authorities have identified the murder-suicide couple in the Saturday night incident in Chesapeake as 22-year-old Collin Earl Smith-Aiken and 20-year-old Aniece Marie Gonzalez, both from Portsmouth.

Officials say the deceased couple was officially married to each other at the time of the shooting.

Officials responded on receiving shots fired near the intersection of George Washington Highway North and Canal Drive at about past 11 p.m. Saturday. Arriving officers located two persons inside a vehicle northbound on George Washington near Canal Tires.

Investigators say Gonzalez was driving the vehicle when Smith-Aiken fatally shot her, then stepped out of the car and then turned the gun to himself. Responding officers transported  Smith-Aiken to the hospital, where he succumbed to her injuries some hours after. The wife was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators are yet to discover a possible motive in the incident but believe it stemmed from a domestic dispute. An unidentified woman who reportedly stopped to see what was going on was grazed by gunfire.
