In connection with the murder of two people, whose bodies were discovered in bags on a West Seattle beach in June, a 62-year-old man was apprehended and lodged in the King County Jail on Wednesday. Michael Dudley, a resident of Burien, has been named as the suspect. Dudley’s bail was set at $5 million by the judge after two counts of first-degree murder were determined to have reasonable cause. The dead was eventually identified as 35-year-old Jessica Lewis who passed away in Seattle on June 16 from multiple gunshot wounds by the King County Medical Examiner’s office. The second victim was identified as Austin Wenner, age 27, who passed away on June 16 after being shot in the torso. Homicide is the cause of death for both victims.

The suitcase that had washed up at Duwamish Head in June was captured on camera by a group of adolescents participating in a scavenger hunt. While filming for a TikTok post, they unzipped it and discovered plastic bags. At the time, detectives stated that they did not think the deaths had anything to do with any other local Puget Sound investigations.
