Charles L. Cummings Jr. of Nokomis killed in Christian County car accident

Charles L. Cummings Jr. Death – Cause of Death : 31-year-old Charles L. Cummings Jr., of Nokomis, has passed away following injuries suffered from a two-car accident involving a semi-trailer truck. The car crash happened on Wednesday night, December 8, 2021, at approximately 8:11 p.m. on County Highway 1, north of County Highway 8 in southeastern Christian County.

According to officials, Cummings was heading southbound on Highway 1 when his car drifted off the roadway into the northbound lane and collided with the semi-trailer truck. After the collision, Cummings was pinned in his car and was later extricated by Taylorville firefighters.  He sustained blunt force trauma injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash. Meanwhile, the semi-driver came out of the collision uninjured.

The crash remains under investigation.

Charles L. Cummings Jr.’s obituary will be released by his family. 

Christian County is a county located in the U.S. state of Illinois. As of the 2010 census, the population was 34,800. Its county seat is Taylorville.
