Carl Cereghini critically injured in Toms River auto-pedestrian accident

Carl Cereghini Car Accident : 61-year-old Carl Cereghini, of Toms River, New Jersey has sustained critical injuries following an auto-pedestrian accident that happened on Monday, November 29, 2021. The incident happened at the intersection of Vaughn Avenue and Windsor Avenue in Toms River, New Jersey on Monday evening, at approximately 4:58 p.m. Cereghini was struck by a car while attempting to cross the roadway.

Preliminary investigation showed that Cereghini had entered a street and was trying to cross when he was struck by a northbound car driving on Vaughn Avenue. According to the driver of the car, Cereghini entered the roadway in front of the car, and the car did have time to stop for him to cross before the car struck him.

Cereghini sustained serious injuries and was transported to Jersey Shore Medical Center for treatment in critical condition. The driver of the car did not sustain any injuries and did not display signs of intoxication.

Investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing by the Toms River Traffic Safety Officer.
