An inspirational and well respected head from my time at NSB, who’s speeches and advise stick with me today. He taught us to always be what we want to be, to dream big, to persevere and be the best you that you can be…

The world has lost a legend this week. RIP Sir…

Tributes to ex-schools commissioner Bruce Liddington: Sir Bruce Liddington, who served as schools commissioner for England from 2006 to 2009, died yesterday in Dubai aged 70, former schools minister ..

I have seen the words “flair and panache” used to describe Sir Bruce. Aside from the enormous impact on NSB and education my old boss leaves behind as his legacy, I reckon that’s not a bad way to be remembered! RIP Bruce Liddington. An inspiration.

Sad news. Bruce Liddington used to be head of English at Westwood College in Leek. I heard him give a fascinating talk at a conference years ago after he became head of E-ACT. Full of ideas.

So sad to hear that Bruce Liddington has died. A warm and lovely man who I enjoyed speaking to. He gave me the inside track of how to be a senior civil servant with mixed success! One of the few of us who have worked in DfE and lead schools.

Sad to hear of the death of my inspiring, hugely-respected former headteacher Bruce Liddington. Single-handedly, he transformed a troubled Northampton boys’ comprehensive- dubbed the “school for scoundrels” by local press- into the brilliant place it remains today.

We are still working on getting more details about the death, as family statement on the death is yet to be released.
