“This is our old friend Brandon Marks. A lot of you knew him as Stubbs. Sadly, he passed away following attending a festival this past weekend. All of us knew him, some a little more than others. I believe Stubbs was in a precursor to The Dollar Generals, from which we scooped up Wertman in 2002. I didn’t know him that well, but I always remember Stubbs to be a hell of a nice guy when I’d see him at shows in the tri-county area back in the day.

One thing that stands out about the guy was in 2017, the last time we played our old stomping grounds at an ill-fated show at Route 61 Roadhouse in Sunbury, PA to honor our late friend Seth Snyder. If you were there, you’d remember a heated confrontation between us and the owner/sound guy. The past is the past and I’m not mad about it anymore, but it was a night that would leave a sour taste in my mouth about the area I used to call home to this day.
Stubbs, who booked the show, was very quick to stick up for us right away. B&P has always been an underdog of sorts, so that REALLY meant a lot that someone would defend us like that. Always a hell of a guy. Unbeknownst to me, when I first moved to Harrisburg, Stubbs was living there as well. Had I know that, or been a little less awkward, I’d have gladly gotten a beer with him. He had good taste in music and despite a lot of people messing with him (all in good fun. Go on YouTube and watch 27 Piece Punch Set’s video for “Six Packs to Go”. They blast him with a fire extinguisher.), he always seemed to take it in stride. …so, we had to say something. Our thoughts go to his family and friends.”
