Bonnie Jo Short Missing: Search for woman who disappeared last month has come to an end

According to a report reaching us at this time, a search through Douglas County for a woman who disappeared last month is now over, the authorities reported Wednesday morning that the body of 77-year-old Bonnie Jo Short who went missing in late November has been found.

Just before 1 p.m. on Tuesday, just before the Jackson County SAR crew arrived, search teams found Short’s body about two-tenths of a mile from her vehicle. Douglas County Chief Medicolegal Death Investigator Craig Kinney responded to the scene and took possession of her body.

Myrtle Creek Police said that there were no signs of anything suspicious and foul play was not involved. Short’s next of kin has been notified.

“The Myrtle Creek Police Department would like to thank the citizens who called in tips, hung missing person fliers in their businesses, and assisted with helping locate Bonnie,”

Earlier: The Myrtle Creek Police Department is searching for an elderly woman, who was reported missing to them and they are appealing for information from the public to help trace her. Authorities are growing increasingly worried for her safety and they are asking anyone with clues that can help them find him to come forward.

On Saturday, November 27, 2021. 77-year-old Bonnie Jo Short left her residence on Myrtle Creek and hasn’t been heard from since she was last seen at approximately 1.30 am. Bonnie was driving a silver 2015 Ford Escape bearing Oregon license plate 900MLJ.

Her family is concerned for her wellbeing and is asking for the public’s help. The police said it is unknown where she may have gone, and her cell phone appears to be shut off.

Officers have been conducting a search of the area she was last seen in and have carried out extensive inquiries, including checking CCTV in the area but there has been no further sighting of her since. Her current whereabouts are unknown.

A strong search team has been built to ease the search for the missing woman. The team is made up of Myrtle Creek Police, who are working closely with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, and “Douglas County Search and Rescue have been focusing the search out South Myrtle Road. As of 4:30 PM today, neither Bonnie nor her vehicle has been located.” Says the Myrtle police.

“The search for Bonnie is still active, and we are still following up on tips and leads provided by the public.” The police added.
