We were deeply saddened to hear Blair Savage passed away on early Thursday morning, around 4:30 am. To say he was a beloved coach and friend is to vastly understate the value, the impact, and the consequence of this man. Our Spartan program got to know Blair for barely a year, from spring of 2019 to now. Blair, with his colorful clothing and vocabulary, his fast blue car, his mold-breaking way of living life and following Our Lord, was an enormous blessing for us all, in ways we can only now really appreciate. He was a great coach for us. But that is a grain of sand in his life. Blair loved his wife Pam, his family, Jesus, coaching young men, Sooner football, his church, and everybody he met. To know him, however briefly, was a gift. He was taken too soon.
We LOVE you Coach Savage!
Prayers for a great loss!!! This guy was a huge influence to many, my son included! Please pray for the Blair Savage family and for the Spartans football team as a whole!! We sure loved this guy & if you were able to take part in any of Trevor’s Graduation celebrations, you may have see the honorary display that was set for Blair on Trev’s Senior table. Blair was a huge part of the Spartans organization and helped Coach Trevor. He gave Trevor the “Pancake award” (bottle of syrup) on several occasions due to how many sacks/pancakes Trevor would get each game, and one time he gave him the “all time legend award” (the coke can you see displayed on Trev’s Senior table). He had an underlying/unknown compromised immune system & went with the team to FL for their National Competition, while there he ate some Oysters, which landed him in the hospital, never making it to the games. The guys played their hearts out & won, in his honor. He was eventually flown home & continued medical attention here, but continued to take a toll for the worst. He’s now home with the Lord & what a glorious day it is for him, but oh what a loss for us! Please keep his wife, my son, the football team & all the rest of us that had the honor of knowing him, in your prayers! #heartbreakingnews
