Black man found shot and killed in 7th Str. Union City

Union City Shooting – Union City Officers are investigating a shooting in the area of 7th Street Sunday morning that left a black man dead.

Officials responded to the 33800 block of 7th Street at about 8:25 a.m. on a shots fire report.  Arriving officers located an adult male at the driver’s side of a parked vehicle suffering from injuries consistent with gunshots at the scene. The man identified only as a black male was transported to an area hospital, where he was declared dead a few minutes after. Investigators say the vehicle was shattered with bullet holes, numerous shell casings were located in the surrounding areas close to the scene. Alameda County Fire Personnel. His identity will be revealed on the next of kin’s notification.

This incident is being investigated by the Union City Police Department Investigations Unit. Union City Police Detectives are asking anyone who may have been in the area or who witnessed anything to contact Detective Smith at 510-675-5268 or the Union City anonymous tip line at 510-675-5207.
