Berks County boy dies in motorcycle accident near Morgantown

16-year-old Mohnton juvenile died in a motorcycle accident on Route 23 in Lancaster County

A 16-year-old Mohnton, Berks County boy has reportedly died of injuries incurred from a single-motorcycle accident that happened on Sunday, November 27, 2021. The incident occurred around 8 a.m. on Route 23 approximately halfway between Blue Ball and Morgantown in the area of ChurchTown village in Lancaster County.

According to officials, the juvenile was riding his motorcycle at high speed eastbound on Route 23 when he failed to maintain control of the motorcycle, left the roadway, struck a mailbox and a light pole. After the collision, the motorcycle continued traveling for approximately 100 feet before coming to a stop. Despite the boy wearing a helmet at the time of the collision, he sustained serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other information pertaining to the incident was revealed. The crash remains under investigation.
