Beau Duffield Death – Cause of Death : 17-year-old Beau Duffield of Benfleet has been identified as the teen boy that lost his life in a car crash following a police chase. The crash occurred in the early hour hours of Saturday morning, November 13, 2021, at approximately 2.30 am on Pound Lane in Bowers Gifford.
According to report, the Essex Police officers were trying to stop a white Citroen Berlingo van on Pound Lane when the driver of the car sped up. The car continued traveling before the driver lost control of the car and slammed into a garden wall and a stationed car. Duffield sustained serious injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash.
Following the collision, an 18-year-old female, a 17-year-old female and a 17-year-old boy were apprehended on suspicion of dangerous driving causing death, failure to stop for police, and driving while under influence. However, the 17-year-old female was released on bail while the 18-year-old female and the 17-year-old male were released under investigation.
An autopsy conducted at the Basildon Hospital by Dr. Benjamin Swift revealed that the boy died of 1A severe traumatic head injuries.
The 18-year-old woman and 17-year-old boy were released under investigation while the 17-year-old girl was released on bail.
