We are lost for words and heart broken over the loss of a dear friend and someone who was part of my life from a very young age. Every week I went to his stand for new pictures of my favorite drivers to get signed in the pits after the races. He saw me grow up and always asked Chad and me how we were but mostly he loved Buddy. His favorite story is when we first got Buddy we took him into the Dirt Trackin show and he sat in Chad’s car. He just loved telling that story and how he took pictures of him in that car and he was so little. He will be missed by so many and has touched so many lives and given to the racing community memories of pictures.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the following message from Barry Skelly’s family:
Barry Skelly passed away this afternoon at 3:57PM at UPMC York Hospital. A private service for family members only will be held to honor Barry’s life. The entire Skelly family thanks everyone for all of the thoughts and prayers that were sent Barry’s way, they were appreciated more than you know.
Barry has been a staple at Lincoln since they first started running in 1953. Skelly started as a photographer for Lloyd King at the track, eventually taking over the photographer duties and the novelty stand. The loss of Barry will be felt throughout the racing community as he touched countless people with his smile and kindness. Although racing was a large part of Barry’s life, he was also a beloved father and grandfather and didn’t hesitate to skip a night at the track to spend time with his family.
Please continue to keep Barry’s family in your thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.

Williams Grove Speedway would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to the friends and family of longtime local racing supporter Barry Skelly. He will be dearly missed.
