Ava Hingson Death – Dead: A great loss was made known to InsideEko. As friends and families of the deceased are mourning the passing of their loved and cherished Ava Hingson.
We are devastated to say we lost our teammate Ava Hingson yesterday afternoon in a tragic riding accident. Ava, a sophomore, will always be remembered as a shining light who always had a smile on her face. She was full of love for everyone, especially her favorite horse Red, and brought joy to the barn every time she came out to ride. There really aren’t any words for the loss we are all feeling. Please lift up Ava, her family, and the many people at Sewanee who loved her.
Yesterday afternoon, Ava Hingson, a beloved teammate and sophomore here at Sewanee passed away due to a tragic riding accident. Ava was and always will be a light in all of our lives, at the barn, and around Sewanee. She was an amazing teammate and friend, always smiling, giving hugs, and offering her help in anyway that she could. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Ava’s family and friends as we all grieve the loss of an absolutely wonderful young girl. Ava, we love you and we miss you. Red misses you too.
The brothers of Beta Theta Chapter of Delta Tau Delta send their deepest condolences and prayers to the family and friends of Ava Hingson, C’23 of Cornwall, Connecticut. Ava died after being thrown from a horse during a trail ride November 17th. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

“I am deeply saddened to report that Ava Hingson, C’23, from Cornwall, Connecticut, died late this afternoon after being thrown from a horse during a trail ride. Her family has been notified.
The Sewanee Police Department and Grundy EMS responded to the accident call and transported Ava to the STRHS-Sewanee hospital.
Please know that there is staff available for student support from 7 to 10 p.m. this evening. Staff from Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) and the Dean of Students Office will be available on the patio in front of the new Wellness Commons. The University chaplain and other members of the chapel staff will be present at All Saints’ Chapel during that time as well.

Ava was a wonderful young woman, full of life and love. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and the entire Sewanee community.
As a community, we will support our students and one another as we grieve together. Announcements about a forthcoming service will come from the Chaplain’s Office.
Having heard about this great loss, the family of this individual is passing through pains, mourning the unexpected passing of their beloved.
This departure was confirmed through social media posts made by Twitter users who pour out tributes, and condolences to the family of the deceased.
