Cabramatta Shooting – Authorities are investigation an officer-involved incident, were a man was shot by police officers in Sydney’s south west area after he allegedly barricaded himself inside a residence in Crabb Place, armed with two handguns Sunday night.
According to Police in Cabramatta, officials responded to a shooting report at a residence in Crabb Place in Cabramatta Sunday night. Responding officers located a man identified only as a 55-year-old man barricaded inside a home, armed with two weapons. The unnamed man fired at officers as they tried to make contacts with him from outside the home, prompting officers to return fire as the man ran back inside the home.
Investigators say Tactical Operations Officers and police negotiators were brought in and a perimeter was established, at approximately 9:00 p. m. the man was taken into custody after negotiations. Medics administered first aid to the man before transporting him to the Liverpool Hospital for treatments.
No officers was injured in the incident, investigations remains active. No motive was immediately given.
