Anetupou Niualiku died in a shooting in Salt Lake City

Anetupou Niualiku Death – Cause of Death – On Sunday morning, 23rd of January 2022, Anetupou Niualiku, 50, was killed in a fatal shooting that occurred at the corner of 100 South and 800 West. Authorities were called at about 9:20 a.m., about possible shots fired. Reponding deputies found a woman later named as Niualiku, with an apparent gunshot wound, according to Sgt. Mark Wian with the Salt Lake City Police Department.

Officers and paramedics attempted CPR, but Niualiku was pronounced dead at the scene. The police did not provide further details pending the “ongoing and very active” investigation. There does not appear to be an immediate danger to the public, he said.

According to Salt Lake Tribune, a neighbor said his surveillance camera captured some of what happened. He said the video appears to show a vehicle rapidly driving east on 100 South toward 800 West before making a U-turn. About five minutes later, the video shows what appears to be the same vehicle drive down 100 South again and turn south onto 800 West, the neighbor said. The camera picks up the sound of three gunshots at 9:21 a.m., and then appears to show the vehicle speeding down 800 West heading north, he said. The neighbor said he gave the video to police.

Authorities encouraged any witnesses to call 801-799-3000 and mention case number 22-13510 with any information.
