Mayor Andy Simpson Death – Dead | Obituary – Passed Away
Andy Simpson Death – Dead: A great loss was made known to InsideEko. As friends and families of the deceased are mourning the passing of their loved and cherished Andy Simpson.
Thank you to everyone who has supported my dad and our family through his fight for life. The support means the world. We’ll continue to live our lives for our dad and carry out his strength, generosity, kindness and sense of humor.
My dad battled end stage renal failure for years all while dealing with the sickness and death of my mom, running a town, multiple businesses and caring for me, my brother and sister. In March I quarantined with my dad for three months and we spent morning to night together, a true blessing in disguise. In that time I watched my dad struggle a lot. He fought extremely hard for months in the hospital and dealt with a rare disease due to his kidney failure that affects 1% of patients. He spent almost every minute in horrible pain but still sat through council meetings, tried managing a pandemic, comforted me when I felt overwhelmed and reassured me everything was going to be okay. We lost my mom in January and my dad put all his energy into being the mom we wanted and the dad we needed. We talked about life after my dad received a kidney and how he had a second chance to live his life the way he wanted to without having to hook up to a machine every night. It was so exciting to finally find a kidney match. What a happy day. We were so excited and my dad had the fight in him to live. He fought so hard every single day and I know he did it for us. I never thought I’d be here saying goodbye to my second parent in a year. This past week hasn’t felt real and I’m just waiting to wake up. It’s a pain I’d never wish on anyone and a hurt that’s going to take a while to even process. He was the best dad, mayor, friend, husband, pop pop and just all around person I’ve ever known. The worlds a lot less bright without you. Brigantine has lost its mayor, a man that cared immensely and took pride in his town. Give mom a hug from me and please watch over me everyday for the rest of my life. Don’t know how I’m going to take on the real world without you. I love you dad.
Please keep our #Brigantine community in your prayers… we suffered much loss this week, and this morning our Mayor Andy Simpson passed away…
Andy was not only a great leader, he was a passionate supporter of our veterans attending every event we had at the American Legion Post 396. He was Brigantine Rams sponsor year after year – an alumni. He walked on the football field in the rain on Alumni Day – twice. He attended every holiday and school function for our children and always had time for a hello and a smile.
He fearlessly led us, along with Former Mayor Gunther and our City Council Members, through the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy.
We will truly miss him and we are all suffering this immense loss today.
Thank you to Andy’s family for sharing him with us! Our prayers are with you!
Today we mourn the loss of one of the most generous and kind people to ever call Brigantine their home.
Mayor Andy Simpson loved our community with all his heart and did everything in his power to help those in need.
Andy dedicated his life to helping others. His charity and kindness had no limits. He treated everyone like they were family and he will forever remain in our hearts.
It is with much sadness that a good man, a friend and extended family, Brigantine Mayor Andy Simpson, has passed early this morning.
Condolences from Vickki and I extended to Barry & Evie and to the Simpson family.

All of us at American Legion Riders Post 352 send our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Mayor Simpson. His support of veterans and active duty military was unparalleled!
Sorry to hear the news that Brigantine mayor, Andy Simpson, died today. I remember when I first moved here he was door to door campaigning. He lectured me on the importance of voting after I told him I don’t vote. But I agreed to vote for him since he was the only one that showed up at my door and took the time to lecture me lol. RIP….
