I’m so hollow inside right now and have been for a while now.I’m going to be honest all of these passings of our loved ones have been a lot for everyone involved . It just seems like everyone is going through something they don’t want to go through right now. It goes without saying we need a break.I don’t really have to say that Alvin Toney was loved by so many people. We all have so many great stories of our brother Alvin. He always supported his neighborhood the 11798 in so many ways. Whether it was helping the kids and teenagers in athletics or trying too put people in position in the music business. The music business is a business that happens in moments from the relationships you make in it. He gave The greatest mc of all times in my humble opinion Rakim a moment. Just imagine if Alvin never mention Ra’s name to Eric B! The brilliance of the Paid In Full album that moment would of not happened. That one moment had to be right and everybody that was involved had to align themselves to each other. The same thing happened with the great Creig Mack RIP. If Alvin didn’t take him to Bad Boy at that moment and time . Flavor in your ear would of not exist and Bad Boy would of not have that platinum hit spring board at that moment. All I can say is my big lil bro always tried to put me in position to creat a moment. He always believed in my skill level as a dj. He would always call me to be involved with his events and tried to put me in pocket with opportunities to help my career. His effort to help people and represent Strong Island and the 11798. He did that also through EPMD being their security by himself . Alvin snapping necks always commanded respect trust and believe. I always admired that about him. I was so happy we was able to celebrate Alvin, Rakim and Chill on the 50th anniversary of Wyandanch Day a couple of years ago. That was a beautiful day for me to see that because! We should celebrate our people’s lives while they are living on earth as a community. We all we got and that is pure fact. If we don’t do it nobody else will.I loved Alvin Toney and still love him through his spirt. His Legacy and contributions will never be forgotten. I want to extend my deepest sincerest condolences and prayers to the Toney family Luv is Luv and my condolences too us all and prayers to get through so many 11798 warrior passings

R.I.P. Alvin Toney

I’m very sad to hear the news of his passing.
For those who didn’t know Al, he helped everyone from Long Island’s music career in one way or another.
No one could brighten up your mood better than Al.
He will be missed, dearly.

Peaceful journey into Eternal Paradise Brotha Alvin Toney aka Al B. I remember when our Families moved to Wyandanch NY in 1974-75 on South 28th Street. We been family ever since. Thx for all you done for all communities and entertainment/music industry Brotha. You will be missed… gv Craig Mack a peace salute from me. – your Sis Karen B.

Please take a moment today to remember my homie ALVIN TONEY. Who was Alvin? He was a Long Island legend..among a few other things body guard roadie and friend to my boys EPMD, MANAGER to MY HOMIE Craig Mack. we hung out like brothers AL. YO ALVIN I’m glad I got to speak to you and catch up on things… miss you already…

IMO, If 11798 had a Mount Rushmore, Alvin Toney’s face would indeed be up there. If flags are being flown, they should indeed be at half mass.

He use to stay at the crib on many occasions. He and my older Brother, Dee, were thick as thieves growing up. My mother, Miss. Queen always had a plate/place for him. I use to be at his house everyday as well because my man Anthony Toney and I were crazy tight. Brother Al was a Brother to many…and was indeed a third Big Brother to me. This Brother is indeed one who will indeed be missed. Rest Well.
I remember how Alvin was always a magnet. This dude knew everyone.
Remember when he brought LL through Wyandanch? He was credited with introducing Eric B and Rakim. He was EPMD’s Bodyguard. He was Craig Mack’s manager.
We had an on-going thing where when a name was said, someone would say “I bet Alvin knows them.” lol
For me, it was 2003 when Don King had a huge fight card in Atlantic City. I was hired on to work that fight card which was headlined by 8 title fights. One of those bouts was Hasim Rahman vs John Ruiz for the WBA Heavyweight title. I was asked to go to Rahman’s hotel room for something. I walk in the room and who do I see? Alvin Toney. I hadn’t seen him in a while, but when we saw one another, we went wild. “YO WHATS GOING ON? Wyandanch in the house!!!”
From Boys to Men, and now beyond…Dude will never be forgotten.
