I’m not sure why my city is so violently beautiful but it is. I have such a love-hate relationship with New Orleans and honestly these days I have more hate for it than love. One of my friends/brothers from another mother Alonzo Wiley was taken too soon from gun violence early this morning and my heart just breaks for him! He was such a light and he and I connected because we shared that same light but this world fights so hard to rid itself of the brightest ones. No matter what he lives on because energy never dies and he is being carried in the hearts of so many. I love you Zo and now you can rest in power alongside your mother whom I’m sure is waiting to welcome you home.”
