Our hearts are broken by the loss of our beautiful sister, Ally Carpel. We have taken the past few days to reflect on her life & the people she touched in it.
Ally was somebody you could always rely on. She was the sweetest girl, who would never judge anybody or anything you did. She was always there when you needed a shoulder to cry on, and was always there to pick you up when you are down. She would do anything for the people closest to her. She was the best friend, sister, and daughter anyone could ever ask for. She was a light in so many lives that was taken too soon and anyone would think the same thing if they got the pleasure of knowing her.
These words do not do Ally justice but we hope to honor her by living out Kappa’s values every day.
We appreciate all the love from the Greek and UofSC community at this time. Please continue to keep the Carpel Family in your thoughts. There is a GoFundMe set up to help cover medical expenses and funeral costs. Any donation helps: https://gf.me/u/yhnucd
Hug your friends & family extra tight this week & tell them you love them. Rest in peace Ally
Kappa friends, I’m sharing what the EK Chapter President has written about the chapter member who suffered a brain aneurysm a week ago today. She was a rising senior at Carolina but unfortunately died yesterday morning. Please keep this family in your prayers as I cannot even fathom their loss.
It is with tremendous sadness I write to inform you that our sister, Ally Carpel, passed away this morning surrounded by her family.
The loss of our sister is a truly tragic event and one that none of us could ever be prepared for. Ally was an amazing sister to all of us and I cannot believe that we lost her so young.
There is no doubt that this is an incredibly difficult time for our chapter. I wish we could all be together now. It is important for us to be there for our sisters and do what we can to support each other. We can honor Ally by continuing to live out Kappa’s values everyday.
Our district directors and FSL have been notified. They are supporting the chapter at this time and are another resource for you all. The local alumnae chapter is also working with the family to provide support from the KKG Foundation. I am incredibly thankful that we are able to offer this support to them. It is a good reminder that Kappa is always here to support us.
I want everyone to know that we are working hard on more ways to honor and memorialize Ally.
I appreciate the outpouring of support we have gotten from all of you already. It means a lot to know our alumnae are always here to support us.
I’m having a difficult time wrapping my head around this… my heart is heavy. Ally is someone i’ve known since middle school. We graduated high school together, & we were 2 of just 3 students from our grad class to take the leap & go to school 8 hours away from home at UofSC. Although her & I never became close, I can attest to the fact that she was the kindest, friendliest soul with the bubbliest personality. My heart goes out to her family and friends right now. Heaven has gained an angel, for sure. Rest easy, girl
We are still working on getting more details about the death, as family statement on the death is yet to be released.
