Alexander Alvarado Death – Boy, shot to death near Wilmington Elementary ID’d

Alexander Alvarado Death : 12-year-old Alexander Alvarado has been identified by the L.A. County coroner’s office as the victim of the Wilmington fatally shooting that occurred on Monday evening.

Authorities say two more victims, a child, and a woman sustained gunshot injuries following the incident near an elementary school Monday evening. The incident was reported at about 4:51 p.m. near Wilmington Elementary Park School in the 1400 block of East Denni Street. Responding officers disclosed that two unidentified suspects approached a parked vehicle and opened fire before speeding away.

Investigators said the 25-year-old woman drove from the scene to Eubank Avenue, where she called 911. The boy identified as Alexander Alvarado later succumbed to his injuries at a hospital.

Another child a fourth-grade student in Wilmington Elementary, described as an “unintended victim,” was wounded in the shooting. The girl was playing on the playground when she was struck by a stray bullet. Police said the 9-year-old girl and the woman were both in critical but stable condition Tuesday morning
