Three injured at Alcoa Pinjarra refinery

On Tuesday, December 14, three employees were injured in a workplace incident at Alcoa. It was revealed that the victims were treated for chemical burns.

The nature of the accident was not released by the officials.

The accident happened in the refinery. Two victims of the accident were flown to Fiona Stanley Hospital for treatment.

An Alcoa spokesperson said “A valve failure at Alcoa’s Pinjarra Alumina Refinery resulted in three employees being exposed to process material,”

“The employees were treated for burns at the refinery.

Emergency services, a rescue helicopter, and five ambulances were present at the Pinjarra Refinery to assist in the accident.

The accident is still under investigation.
