So very sad, so many of our greats are leaving the field. I still recall the first time I heard the name #AlbertQuixall, it was while standing with my dad @hydeunited when I was a young lad. Allegedly he was in the main stand. Condolences to the family. RIP

I remember when I first started watching weds in 1960 I went with one of the biggest wednesdayites ever yes my dad god bless him & I always remember him saying to me this man is one hell of a footballer his name was Albert quixall. RIP ALBERT.WAWAW.

My dad had to explain he was a famous footballer, I thought maybe he was a film star. My tiny young brain placed him in cowboy films with the name Albert Quixall. So sad how some people’s exploits fade in the memory as time passes.

He was Sir Matt Busby’s first signing after the Munich Air Disaster. Quixall spent 6 seasons at Old Trafford helping the club win an FA Cup in 1963.
