The news of her death was announced on social media by her friend, Angelo Cucci :
I have been so sad today thinking about one of my best friends of all time Adlien Adilen Rodriguez passing away this morning. This woman was seriously one of the hardest working and unselfish amazing beings I have ever met in my life. I always admired her ability to start her own business and watch her expand into a larger building and have multiple employees. She ALWAYS had sound business advice to give and was never shy to share it to anyone who she wanted to help succeed.
Let’s go back to the 90’s on Lucerne Ave. The Cottos across the street and me and my sister running up to the basement window to scream to mom “Hey! We’re going to play with the new kids!” I don’t know why but me and my sister referred to them as the new kids for years. Adilen and I would ride bikes, everywhere! Ice cream shop trips, (who remembers Super Kream on State!) we owned that place! The funny thing is her first nail salon was right next to that same shop where that ice cream shop finally closed down and eventually torn down. We were ALWAYS over each other’s houses, pool parties at their house. Homework and studying at ours, I remember Adilen and I playing in my Parma OH Basement and listening to her Janet Jackson cassette tape she brought over. We would sing Paula Abdul EVERY morning in the car when Mrs. Cotto would drive us to school!
Man, those were OUR days! No cell phones, no social media drama and nonsense. Sometimes we would just leave and be gone all day but always home for supper but just lived outside as true kids. We grew older, always said hi and reconnected years later when I would detail her vehicles and she would always encourage me to get into the detailing business by telling me how good I was at it and would always shout me out.
I found out this morning she had passed away and was just so sad. To her family, the Cotto’s and the Roriguez Family, I am just so sorry for this incredible and unfair loss. She truly was an amazing person and ALWAYS had a smile on her face no matter what. I will always have fond memories of her and as I’m struggling to get my own business off the ground she will ALWAYS be in my ear telling me to keep going. ❤️❤️❤️ RIP Adilen Rodriguez, a truly amazing young woman. She left her mark on me for sure.
