Aboite Fire Department mourns the death of Shawn Doyle of Fort Wayne, IN

Shawn Doyle Cause of Death – Passed Away: Captain Shawn Doyle (Fire 186) from Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away on Saturday, December 4th, 2021. The circumstances surrounding the cause of Shawn Doyle’s death had not been made public at the time of this report. Captain Doyle was community-driven, dedicated to teamwork, honest, trustworthy and hardworking.

Friend mourned the “unexpected passing” of Captain Shawn Doyle, a 10-year veteran of the Aboite Fire Department, on her Facebook page.

“The call this morning absolutely broke my heart. Shawn Doyle, you will be so missed. I cannot thank you enough for the time I got to know you. You taught me so much while I was on Aboite. You were always there to lend an ear or a helping hand, and Ashton loved coming to see you and learning about the fire trucks and gear. I will forever be grateful for the late hockey game nights at 2’s and the late night venting chats that followed, teaching me how to maintenance tools and airpacks, and for all of the knowledge, experience, tips and tricks you took the time to give to me. I will always remember my time on aboite and everyone who was a part of it. RIP Doyle,” Victoria Biddle posted.

Shawn Doyle, a lifetime Fort Wayne native, attended Homestead High School. On October 11, 2021, he joined the Aboite Fire Department as a firefighter after completing school. Shawn grew up in the fire department because his father was an SWFD fireman. He worked his way up to Lieutenant and then Captain, and in 2016 he became an instructor to aid those who were just starting out pass on the information he had learned.

The family will release an obituary and funeral arrangements for Shawn Doyle.
