A Legend in Pizza biz is gone… his breakfast pizzas during our hangover days were epic at Joey Tomato’s in Point Beach…

“John and I are just in shock with the passing of our good friend Johnny Cataldo ( aka “Johnny G” )
As I think about him, I hear his voice in my head saying “Listen”…I am a good man. I am with my Mom and Grandma – who I know he missed so much.
“When someone close to me passes away. I reflect on the many memories we shared. I will always remember our trip down to Louisville to teach a bread class. Johnny was so interested in making bread and we drove down there because the water isn’t the same as here. During that ride, we talked about our Grandmothers like they were still alive. We cried and laughed about our Uncles back in the day with broken English, and we laughed because we couldn’t say the name of the town…louuuuuuuuuuuuu —- vil. We went to many pizza shows in Vegas with Uncle Vinny and Disney, oh how he loved Disney. What a great time we had with our kids.
“One of the many things I will cherish about our friendship was that I got him to attend Mass with me on our trips. I also loved busting him or getting busted by him about The Boss of the Sauce contest – he beat me by 291 votes. I must say John made a good pot of sauce.
What a great, generous heart he had. If John or myself ever needed help with anything, he was always there. Johnny G was a friend’s friend !!!
“On behalf of John, Myself and our Joe Leone’s F.A.M.I.L.Y., we send our condolences to Kim, Johnny Jr, his brother Michael and the entire Cataldo family.
Johnny G, We miss you. May you Rest In Peace – JL.”
