A man from Denver has been charged with the murder of his wife and her friend in south Denver. The fatal double stabbing occurred at the wife’s home in the 2200 block of S. Marion Street, according to the Denver police department on Wednesday 29th of September 2021.
Neither of the victims has been identified but police identified one of the women as Matthew’s estranged wife.
It happened that a neighbor has called 911 after he heard the wife screaming, including yelling “Get out,” before abruptly going silent, according to the affidavit.
Matthew Madden, the 36-year-old husband was seen in front of the house covered in blood and holding a knife which he refused to drop, and police used a stun gun on him.
After the arrest of Matthew, authorities found two women in the backyard with multiple stab wounds. The women were pronounced dead at the scene.
Two children were also found sleeping inside of the house.
Madden has been admitted into the hospital after the police found out that he suffered multiple self-inflicted lacerations to his neck, chest, and arms.
As of Wednesday morning, Madden was in critical condition but Once he is released from the hospital, he will be charged with two counts of first-degree murder, police said.
The incident is tagged as a double homicide.
