1dead, another injured in Washtenaw County home shooting

A manhunt is ongoing early Thursday morning after a man was found fatally shot and another man critically injured at a Washtenaw County mobile home community.

Officials responded on receiving 911 reports of a shooting and a possible car crash at about  6:11 a.m., at the Arbor Meadows Mobile Home Community, close to Michigan Avenue and Carpenter Road. Arriving officers located a 26-year-old male in an unresponsive state at the driverside of a white Chevy Malibu. The Pittsfield Township man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigator located the vehicle, which had crashed into a parked car at the scene. A second man, 30, also from Ypsilanti Township, who was also inside the Chevy Malibu was located conscious with injuries consistent with a gunshot at the scene. The man was transported to the hospital, where he was listed in a stable condition.

No suspect information was immediately given and police say this is not a threat to the public. No other details have been released yet. This is an ongoing investigation.

Authorities are urging anyone with information or home video recordings of the incident to contact the police.
